Centralized Receiving and Distribution Center

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Washington

DY Consultants is currently providing on-call planning services for the Port of Seattle and was engaged to assess the need for a centralized receiving and distribution center (CRDC) at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). A CRDC is a facility located on or near an airport’s property that primarily serves as a receiving and sorting center for airport-bound goods.

DY Consultants studied the needs, benefits, and costs of implementing a CRDC at the airport. DY Consultants analyzed the needs of Airport tenants and the existing delivery process at the Airport to identify challenges, deficiencies, and opportunities. DY Consultants compared the existing environment to an environment with a CRDC, determined what benefits the Airport would be able to achieve, and provided an estimated scale of these benefits.
