DY Consultants contributed to the update of the New York State Airport System Plan (NYSASP) for the New York State Department of Transportation. The goal of the NYSASP is to establish a vision and identify airport improvements needed to meet future statewide airport system demands. DY Consultant’s primary tasks involved the development of an inventory as well as an assessment of future capital investment needs of the airport system. DY developed a database of Airport Capital Improvement Plans (ACIPs) and extrapolated the data to provide a high-level estimate of funding needs for a 10-year planning period. The analysis focused on the FAA Airport Capital Improvement Program (AIP), and included a review of historical funding allocations and future funding needs for the statewide airport system.
