Fall Career Fair at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT)



On October 5, 2005, DY Consultants was happy to participate in the Fall Career Fair at Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), along with the pre-eminent aviation planning and engineering firms in the country. FIT's College of Aeronautics enjoys an international reputation for excellence in both flight and non-flight aviation education. The school offers undergraduate programs in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, Aviation COmputer Science, and Aviation Meteorology, as well as Master of Science in Aviation and doctoral programs in Science Education with an Aviation focus.

DY Consultants’ Recruitment Committee was pleased to participate in the 2nd Annual Engineering Consortium Career Fair on October 27 – 28, 2005. This fair was held on Columbia University’s Morningside Heights campus and brought together over 1,400 students from a Consortium of twenty-five Schools, including but not limited to Cooper Union, Yale University, Dartmouth College and Princeton University, along with over 70 pre-eminent national and international engineering employers.

Perimeter Fence at Hammonton Municipal Airport

DY Consultants recently completed design, permitting and construction management for construction of a Perimeter Fence at Hammonton Municipal Airport. This fence was funded in large part by New Jersey Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics, and Federal Aviation Administration monies. New staff members

DY Consultants is proud to welcome three new staff members to our team

Suki has 7 years of experience as an airport environmental consultant and project manager on projects throughout the tri-state region including major transportation, planning, and infrastructure initiatives. She possesses extensive knowledge of New Jersey and New York land-use laws and policies with a successful track record of implementation. She is also a skilled consultant in the area of regulatory compliance and methods to implement the patchwork of overlapping agency jurisdictions and environmental regulations.

 

Rene Tam is a recent graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she earned her B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. While at Virginia Tech, she completed an engineering co-op and student competition on the waste water treatment design process, as well as design courses on hydraulic structures. She placed 2nd in the AWWA/VWEA Student Design Competition, and was granted the Gilbert L. & Lucille C. Seay Scholarship. Ms. Tam joined DY consultants as a junior engineer. As an Airport Planner, Michelle has been responsible for the coordination and completion of Airport Master Plans, Airport Layout Plan Updates, Part-77 Analysis, Obstruction Studies, Environmental Assessments, and Part-150 Noise Studies. She was responsible for the verification of compliance with FAA AC 150/5370-2E Operational Safety on Airport Guidelines during construction. In addition to her airport planning capabilities, Michelle also served an Airport Certification Safety Inspector with the FAA and an operations coordinator with Westchester County Airport in White Plains, NY.
